It all begins with Bauhaus, Memphis and other great Artists and design movements that shaped so much of what we know today in the design world. Through art, furniture, fashion and product.
Personally I have been influenced and love the Bauhaus and Memphis styles. One one hand you get a more modernist brutalist approach and on the other a more adventurous design style with more shape, pattern and colour.
This NFT project was born for a love of design, art and NFTs> I love these two styles of design and wanted to bring them together in a sculptural form. The Modernists masks a all created using typical Bauhaus and Memphis shapes, colours and patterns, there will also be additional elements and collaborations to create more rare and unique

Each mask is hand crafted by Andrew Footit or sometimes a collaborating artist.
With all the masks being a unique 1/1 design, each will have its own rarity features.

Each Modernist Mask will be sold on a timed Auction. This gives everyone a fair chance to get a mask that resonates with them.
Timed auctions also help to create a fair value for the collection. The modernist mask collection is created on an Art first basis but as the creator I want each holder to see their piece as an investment that will hold and increase in value.

The Modernist Masks is and always has been for the Art as it’s primary function. I love sculpture and abstract art and this was the driving force for this project
Looking further ahead, I would like to explore AR for the masks that give holders the ability to put their masks on in an AR environment. In terms of Web3 and Metaverse
worlds this could be an exciting addition the the Modernist Masks. In addition to AR features, I would love to explore actual Physical versions of some masks.
